Hi Eleanor,

I'm replying to your recent post on the Hunterdon County list. I've got
extensive roots in Hunterdon County, especially the parts of northern
Hunterdon settled by the Palatine Germans. My mother's maiden name was
Alpaugh and my paternal grandmother was an Apgar. I also have Hummer and Fox
ancestors and was wondering if you'd like to compare notes. I'm especially
interested in any information you might have of the Fox/Fuchs family of the
18th century. My Elisabeth Fox (bc1770
d 1834) was married to Christopher/Christian Philhower, a veteran of the
Revolution. I believe she is a descendant of Johannes Peter Fuchs, an early
settler at Fox Hill in Tewksbury TWP but I've been having a hard time finding
much information on his descendants.
