Hi Sharon and Bob Lewis,

My grandmother was Phebe Ann Cray, born 1856 in Skillman Station, NJ and
died 1921 in South Bound Brook, NJ. She was married to William Henry
Durling. The following is her obit.

<Phoebe Ann Cray, wife of William H. Durling, Sr. of this place, died about
midnight on Monday, from paralysis with which she was stricken on Friday
morning. She had been ill but a few days. She was the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Jeremiah Cray and was born near Skillman Station about sixty-four
years ago. Besides her husband and one son, William H., Jr. she is
survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Mason of Skillman, and Mrs. Ida Cray of
Princeton. Mrs. Durling had been a resident of South Bound Brook for
nearly forty years, and was a member of the Bound Brook Methodist Church.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. H. E. Green are being held this
afternoon at two o'clock, from the parlors of James S. Taggart with
interment in the family plot in the Bound Brook Cemetery.>

I have not yet found who "Mrs. Jeremiah Cray" is yet, however I found on
the 1880 Somerset County, NJ Federal Census in Hillsborough the following:
Jeremiah Cray age 43 born in NJ 1837
Mary C. (unknown) age 38 born in PA 1842 - parents born in PA
Jefferson Cray age 16 born 1864
Martha A. Cray age 10 born 1870
Margaret Cray age 6 born 1874
Jenna F. Cray age 4 born 1876
Minnie Cray age 2 born 1878

I don't know what connection if any my Phebe has to this Jeremiah and his
family, however this may be the Jeremiah and (Mary C. ?) Catherine Bigley
that you are looking for. The age appears right if Jeremiah Sr. was married
in 1836. Please let me know if this helps you. I too am looking for any
Crays and hope that I can come up with a connection with my grandmother
Phebe Ann Cray.
