Speaking of Daniel ENT, I was just looking over a film of Hunterdon County
documents today and noticed that DANIEL ENT along with ??? HART were listed
as Security on a 4 March 1822 letter of adminstration concerning Agnefs
MILLER who died without a Will. The text of this is below.
I am searching a family of MILLERs who moved to Fayette County PA in the
1780-90's. There was a whole raft of Land Warrants all issued on 22 APR
1794 to William, Mary, Margaret, Nancy, John, Andrew, Hugh and James
MILLER. An earlier land grant was made to Samuel MILLER on 3 Jun 1786.
I suspect that Agnefs MILLER d. 1822ish may be a sister of PETER MILLER
Sr., Peter may be the HICKORY QUAKER MILLER who taught school in Fayette
County in 1816 at the age of 70 as mentioned in Ellis's History of Fayette
County. (You can just guess why he was called "Hickory" ;>)
Peter's brother was ANDREW MILLER who died in 1795 ish. He was married to
MARTHA and had children, , PETER MILLER JR (m. Elizabeth by 1814), JOHN
MILLER (m. Sarah REED of Sussex Co, NJ) and MARGARET MILLER (m. Thomas
MATHEWS)
A sister, SUSANNAH MILLER (m. JOHN DUER) and another SARAH MILLER (m.
ANDREW YEAGLEY or the alternative spell JACKLE/JAKLE) are also listed in
related power of attorneys etc.
If anyone on the list has information on this family of MILLERs who may
have been Quakers from Hunterdon County, NJ I would appreciate your help in
tracking them down. BTW my line is Andrew Miller, John Miller, James
Sutton Miller, Charles Ellsworth Miller, Ray Vergil Miller and me, Mike
Miller. I would love to push that list back a little farther. Thanks,
Mike Miller
