Subject: [NJHUNTER] Deed Index Abbreviations

I am looking over the Hunterdon County Deed index and do not understand
some the the abbreviations following the Grantor's name. Some are obvious
but "ux", "ax" and "als" are not apparent to me.

The unabridged dictionary shows only few work even beginning with ux with
"uxorial" meaning
2. of , pretaining to or befitting a wife. and gives not a clue to the
other abbreviations.

Does anybody know the meaning of these abbreviatons?

Searching Millers and Reeds who removed for Hunterdon and Sussex Counties
to Fayette Co., PA in the 1790-1810 time frame along with the families who
remained in NJ.
