It is not my intention to start a long thread concerning the difference
between a " Court approved legal Name Change" and an "Alias", I would like
to point out to Mr. Hall, that it makes no difference where one lives. An
Alias is a name that one assumes, assume; "to take upon ones self" for
whatever reason. When referring to someone's name that has been legally
changed by a court, the term FKA (Formerly Known As) is used. When referring
to someone that uses an Alias or nickname the term AKA (Also Known As) is
used. I base this humble opinion on my experience of twenty years as a
Federal Agent and Twenty years as a Private Investigator. I, by the way was
born in New Jersey and worked all over the United States. I have contacted
the original poster off list, with information concerning the use of an
Alias, in Public Records.
