Hi,
I am also so interested as my Johannes Trimmer settled in Amwell and lived
near the Hausells (Hausscheilt). Let me know what you find.

My Johannes (born ~1700) seems to have arrived ~1730 here as his eldest son
Matthias (b. ~1723) wrote in beautiful German script while the younger son
Andreas did not. If I remember correctly from Chambers' Early Germans of NJ,
he and son were naturalized in NJ in 1749. I always wished we know which
boat they came over on. The German group in Amwell there all seemed to be
German Reformed (Deutsche Reformierten)(later merged into Dutch Reformed
(Ref. Church in Am.) and Presbyterians). Our oldest Trimmer family Bible only
goes back to 1802; have never been able to find out who has the Johannes
Trimmer Bible.
Jones' book mentions the probably location in Germany of the Trimmers as
Neuwied on the Rhine (Neuwied am Rhein).

Merry Christmas
Robert Trimmer
