A new year – a new query.

I am searching for the parents and siblings of John B. Cain. John Cain was
born near Amwell, Hunterdon County, New Jersey on April 7, 1804. John
married Anna Myers, daughter of Albertus and Anna (Hann) Myers, on April 4,
1825. They were married by Rev. Isaac Poulson of the Dunkard Church. John
and Anna are living in Amwell township in 1830, Delaware Township in 1840,
and Hopewell Township in 1850. In 1841 John bought some land from his
Brother-in-law Peter Myers. Peter had inherited the land from his father
Albertus. In 1844 John sold some (or all?) of the land to Samuel Corvell or
Correll.

John and Anna had 6 children while in New Jersey:

-1- Wesley (1826 - 1909) Married to Mary Catherine Quick (1829 – 1914)
-2- Ephraim (1827 – 1869) Married to Jane Elizabeth Hart (1824 – 1892)
-3- Sarah Anne (1829 – 1916) Married Jacob H. Marshall (1828 – 1911)
-4- Hiram (1831 – 1919)
-5- John (1832 – 1905) Married to Julia Ann Beal (1843 - ?)
-6- Hannah (1837 – 1900) Married to George R. McMurphy (? - ?) and then
Henry Ashdown (? - ?)

In 1850 John and Anna, along with all of their children, picked up an moved
to Hillsdale, Canoe Creek township, Rock Island County, Illinois. They
bought/claimed bounty land in 1852. Most of John and Anna’s children farmed
in the area. John jr. helped his father farm. Hiram Cain moved to
Nevada/California where he may have mined and/or worked as a Stock man.
After his father’s death, Hiram returned to Hillsdale and was the last of
his generation to die in Illinois.

Anna died in 1882 followed by John in 1885. They are buried at the Bethesda
Cemetery near Hillsdale. Also buried in this cemetery is Joseph Cain
(1797 – 1870) who I suspect is John B. Cain’s brother.

In 1879 Jane Cain (Wife of Ephraim) and her family moved to Friend, Saline
County, Nebraska. I am a descendant of Joseph Van Dyke Cain, son of Ephraim
and Jane.

If any of these names ring a bell, please contact me to exchange
information.
