To my friends:
firstly let me say thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes.

I was here in Seattle for the quake of '65 while in highschool. That one
centered in Alaska. I was here too for the 5. something we had 6 years ago.

There appears lots of damage but little injury. Here at my home some 20 miles
south of Seattle we had a good shake - much more intense than the one 6 years
ago and a few things fall off the wall. A little bit of plumbing in my Koi
pond spring a leak but it's easily fixed.

If you see the photos of the Cedar River landslide you will be looking almost
directly across from my home.

The photos of downtown Seattle in Pioneer Square are just a block from my old
office.

Well, my son is calling so it's time to go.
