Dick,
The Fairmount Presbyterian Church was originally known as the Fox Hill
Church (Snell, p. 482). An old log church was located there before 1746. The
neighborhood was called "Foxenburg" after John Fox, a large landowner. It
was also called Parkersville from James Parker, another extensive proprietor
who gave the land on which the new church was built in 1760. In 1869 the
name of the church was changed from the Presbyterian Church in Parker's
Village or Fox Hill to the First Presbyterian Church of Fairmount.
"Ecclesiastically, this church was originally German Reformed, and the
services held there previous to 1768 were conducted frequently by the
pastor of the Lutheran church at New Germantown (Oldwick)." In 1813 it
established ties with the Presbytery of New Brunswick, as did the Alexandria
Reformed Church. I doubt very much that there are any records back to the
1740s, but like you, we can all hope for miracles.
