It's diggin'n time.
Are you an ALPAUGH, APGAR, PHILHOWER, or SCHUYLER? Did any of your people
marry into a LANCE - LANTZ line? If so I need to hear from you.
Let's see where our people are buried. I'm looking for as many cemeteries in
NJ PA NY and or coast states as we can find. We may be able to identify our
people by who they married. See below #4.
Background:
The intelligence gathering technique is working.
As we continue to assemble raw data we should very shortly have enough
material to begin patters in our family, and from those patters in A.
Locations of habitation, B. Family names, C. Marriages and Wills, we will be
able to assemble a far more complete image of our line.
I'm connecting the dots on our LANCE - LANTZ family. Here's what I know.
Ships
The following ships are recorded as having LANCE or LANTS or LANTZ passengers
begin transported from Europe to America
1. The Samuel from Cowes England arrived Philidelphia August 11, 1732
2. The Bilander Thistle from Cowes England arrived Philadelphia Aug 1738
3. The Aurora 1744
4. SS Herder, 1879
5. SS Penland 1888
People and Places
Fact #1. Four LANTZ brothers arrived in Philadelphia in August or September
1738 aboard the Bilander Thistle.
Fact #2. Many of our LANTZ and LANCE people are found in 19th century New
Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Fact #3. We know that circa 1790 at least one branch of our LANCE line that
changed the spelling of LANTZ to LANCE and back again. Thus there is in at
least that one line, which later moved to Ohio, there is a clear link between
LANTZ and LANCE people.
Fact#4. The LANTZ people married ALPAUGH, APGAR, PHILHOWER, SCHUYLER, people
in NJ. All these names are early pioneers and are commonly found in the NJ
areas. We should be able to find more of our people by the association of
their marriages and where the spouses family are buried.
Can you dig ? Ouch.. I know, I know, but I like the 5th Dimension he he
