I found this interesting list of persons in Somerset county, NJ from
1722-1732 as listed in Benjamin Burt's ledger of book debts.
Does anyone know what business Mr. Burt was in?

1732, Oct 10. Burt, Benjamin, of Somerset Co., Int. Admin. granted to
John Mills, cooper. Fellow bondsmen: Peter VanNest, John Freasuer
(Frazer), of County aforesaid, and Alexander Mackdowall, of Perth Amboy.

1732, Oct 27 Inventory (filed 3 Sept 1740), Ledger book-debts 18 1/2
pages. "Other debts outstanding to the heirs (£470.17.5) Bonds, bills,
coon skins, 3 gold rings and pair of gold "buttens" watch. chain and
seal, 4 gold rings, buttens, etc., silver tankard, etc. Made by John

Burt, of Perth Amboy, gent. and brother of Benjamin Bury, deceased. Fellow
bondman - Philip Kearny. "No administration granted on this to my
