I always included a tag, below, after the citation when doing a lookup in
this book for someone (before it could be found online):

Marriage Records of Hunterdon County New Jersey 1795-1875, Vol. 1, Being an
Index to the marriages recorded in the office of the County Clerk at
Flemington, NJ,
by Hiram E. Deats, published by Hunterdon House, Lambertville, NJ, 1986

The numbers after the date signify the volume and page number of the
original record
book. The name in parentheses was the marriage officiant.

Note: The above book is only an index. The page and volume numbers within
the
citation refer to the actual recordbooks that the marriage was recorded in.
To make
certain that the information was copied correctly, I suggest that you obtain
a copy of
the original record from the county court house. Their address is:
