The articles about uncovering the old cemeteries and gleaning the
genealogical info is extremely interesting. When or how will we be able to
learn what info has been found?
I can understand the type of work this project entailed because my husband
and I once found an old flagstone patio at a home we had purchased and on all
fours we personally "discovered" a beautiful place of relaxation once all of
the backbreaking work was done. It was huge and took lots of weekends to rid
the area of the sod that had been allowed to grow over the stones.
I am especially interested in any 1700 data about the
PETTY/PETTIE/PETTE/PETTER/PETTEN family
or any other derivatives that even look like they might fit. My ancestor
came to Somerset, OH in 1808 but I strongly suspect his family had been in
Somerset, NJ prior to his living in the Warren/Sussex Co. areas of your
state. Any leads appreciated.
