List members: I should have checked my files again before I jumped in with
questions because I believe I have one of the connections between HORTMAN and
SNOOK.

The query I posted 6/12/2001 pertained to the Hortman, Fulper, Young,
Sutphin, Danberry and other families and their connections, if any, to the
Snook families.

I mentioned some children of William (d. 1760) and Cateron (will pro. 1769)
Snook: John the eldest son, William, Jr. (d 1793), George (d 1807), and
Elizabeth who married #1) William (prob.) Fulper and #2) William Sutphin.

They also had Philp; Christian who md Jacob Ketchum; Ann who md Henry
Wombaugh (var.); Mary who md Benjamin Abit/Abbott; and Catherine who married
Rudolph STEINMAN/STINEMAN.

>From "More Records of Old Hunterdon County, Vol. 1, Phyllis B. D'Autrechy,
ed. Roxanne K. Carkuff, Hunterdon County Historical Soc., 1998.

Minutes of the Orphans' Court - 1785-1797
Pg. 39: Thursday May the 6th 1790
The lands of William Steinman were divided as follows: Lot 1 to the widow of
Rudolph Steinman, dec'd; lot 2 to Daniel Steinman; Lot 3 to Rachel Young,
wife of Peter Young; lot 4 to child of Ann Stout, dec'd, late the wife of
Anthony Stout; lot 5 to the four children of Christian Reed, dec'd, late wife
of Ephraim Reed; lot 6 to the child of Mary Heavner, late wife of Henry
Heavner; lot 7 to Elsey Runion, wife of Cornelius Runion; and lot 8 to the
four children of Catharine HARTMAN, dec'd, late wife of John HARTMAN.

I think this should be HORTMAN. (???)

I have also found....

Rudolph Stineman, Hopewell, Hunterdon Co., died intestate before 23 Mar 1780.

Admin. of the estate was William Stineman, fellowbondsman Minne Gulick, both
of same place. Inv. made 23 Oct 1770. (NJ Lib. 23, p. 215)

William Stineman, Hopewell, Hunterdon Co. died intestate before 10 Dec 1785,
when the admin. of his estate was Daniel Stineman with fellowbondsman Minne
Gulick, both of Hunterdon Co. Wits: Aaron Runyan and Henry Hevener.

On 8 May 1789, a Citation was made to Daniel Stineman, Admr. of William
Stineman (which William was Adm'r of Rudolph Stineman), to file an Inventory
of the estate of William and an account of estate of Rudolph. On 6 Feb 1790,
a petition was filed by brother, sisters, and heirs-at-law of William
Stineman stating that he died in 1783, Intestate, and a division of property
was requested.

On 2 Apr 1790, Division of lands of William Stineman, situated in Hopewell
Twp:
No. 1 Set off to widow of Rudolph Stineman, 25 and 1/2 acres+/-
No. 2 To Daniel Stineman, 20 and 3/4 acres
No. 3 To Rachel Young, wife of Peter Young, 10 acres, 10 perches
No. 4 To the child of Ann Stout, dec'd, late wife of Anthony Stout, 10
acres, 10 perches

10 acres (NJ Lib. 26, pg. 218)

Catherine Stineman made a will, Hunterdon Co., 16 Apr 1799, pro. 15 Jun 1799,
naming children Daniel, Rachel Young, Alice Runyan. Execs: Peter and John
Snook. Wits: William Marts, Henry and Jacob Tidd. (Snook Newsletter)

>From these records, I have the children of Rudolph Steinman/Stineman and
Catherine Snook as: Christian, William, Daniel, Rachel, Alice/Else, Mary, Ann
and Catherine.

This may open up other possibilities for Stout and Young connections?
