Thanks for your June 11 message, Rich. Your information about Alpheus
Chamberlin being married to a Cox is not incorrect. Cox was a first wife
and I descend from Catherine Young, the 2nd wife. A friend went to the
Hunterdon County Surrogate's Office and found Alpheus Chamberlain in Will
#8-309. It was made in 14 Mar 1848 and proved in 12 Apr 1848. It mentions
wife Catharine, grandson Alpheus Chamberlain Kuhl(my ancestor), deceased
daughter Mary, & sons Edward and Lewis and daughter Sarah. One correction I
have for you is that Alpheus died on 28 Mar 1848 and not 1818. 1848 is
listed on the Larison's Corner Cemetery records. Catharine died on 9 Feb
1853 at the age of 63 years. Do you, or anyone else, know about Catharine
Young's family? She would have been born abt 1790.
Until maybe next time, ginny knutsen
