Hi Ginny,

There is a slight variation to what you already have. The Samuel you are
looking for was married to both of those women. The parents John HOLCOMBE
and Mary GREEN are incorrect -- they belong to a relative family. Their
children are: Elizabeth, Samuel, Richard, Eleanor, John, Sarah, Margaret,
Amariah, Daniel. There is more information on this family if you need it.

From "THE HOLCOMES - NATION BUILDERS"
by Hannah Elizabeth Weir (Mrs. Lewin D. McPherson)
copyright 1947:

Your correct line-up is:

Samuel HOLCOMBE II - son of Samuel HOLCOMBE and Eleanor BARBER - served as
scout in Colonial Army - lived on farm at Mt. Airy in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon
County, NJ.

mar. (2) Sarah EMLEY - dau. of Elisha and Ann (ATKINSON)
b. 12 Oct 1759 - d. 1817
(Sarah's sister Hannah EMLEY mar 23 Apr 1774 Richard HOLCOMBE - Samuel's
brother)

6. Solomon HOLCOMBE - b.4 Oct 1789
7. Lewis HOLCOMBE - b.17 Mar 1794

Samuel II d. 6 Feb 1817 - signed will 26 Oct 1813 - probated 19 Feb 1817 -
named wife Sarah - sons all 8 above and both daughters above, and
grandaughter "who lives with me when of age (21 years).

Sarah EMLEY HOLCOMBE, widow of Samuel II signed will in Amwell Twp.
Hunterdon County, NJ 16 Jul 1828 naming "daughter Mary HOLCOMBE" - "children
of son Robert, deceased" - "sons, Elisha E., Atkinson, Lewis, and Solomon";

If you have any questions, just let me know. On page 254 of this book,
there is a small paragraph on Thomas A. HOLCOMBE who, you mentioned, is
your ancestor. It lists his children and their dates of birth if you need
this information.

I hope this will help you in your research.

Evelyn
