Carly,
Pleasant Run is southwest of Readington and northeast of Stanton. Both
of these communities in Readington Township have a Reformed church. Since
1842 is 6 years before the start of recording birth records in NJ, I would
suggest looking at baptismal records for those two churches to locate the
missing parents. Microfilm copies are available through the LDS local
history centers. The Readington Reformed Baptisms from 1720 were published
in the Somerset Co Historical quarterlies, but end, unfortunately, with the
year 1837 in the last volume. Good luck.
