Hi Everyone,

Kate Young said, "To the group, and M.F. Pickell in particular..... I almost
unsubscribed because my Kennedy, Vroom & Schaeffer families were never
mentioned in the Hunterdon families.".......

This troubles me! It implies if you don't find an immediate response to a
posting or do not find your surnames listed that you should unsubscribe.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Tracing one's ancestors is
frequently a frustrating task with long periods of failure. That doesn't
mean you should unsubscribe from a list. The person you're looking for may
not be a subscriber yet. If you unsubscribe you'll know whether they become
a subscriber and post on your kinfolk. Genealogy may be a very popular past
time but that doesn't mean that even half the population is involved in it.
You could conceivably be a subscriber for years before you encounter the
post or response you've been waiting for. It may never even come, but either
your search is worthwhile or it is not. Quitting is not an option unless
your search isn't worthwhile.

For most people the search for your ancestors will be a search lasting your
entire lifetime. For those like myself it also includes the search for ALL
descendants of my immigrant ancestors.

Best wishes,
Dennis Reiley
