Regarding the query about the Eich/Eych/Eick etc family of Hunterdon, I
have a collateral line with a Charles Eick, born abt 1815, who might fit
in as one of the 11 children of Tunis.
In 1870 he was living in Carpentersville, Warren Co (this is near the
Hunterdon line) and in 1880 he was living in the household of John
Souders, Jr., in Holland Township, and was listed as father-in-law. To
make things more complex, Charles' second wife was the sister of John
Souders, Jr., making them also brothers-in-law.
I know from cursory searches, this surname was not as common in Hunterdon
as I would have expected -- more reason to suspect that those that are
there are related. But I hasten to stress, I have only this information
as he impacts on my Souders research. Charles and his second wife, Sarah
Souders, had one son whose name is butchered as Filetus, Fleetes and
Aklestus.
