Hello Everyone
It has been awhile since we had a roll-call of surnames. I would like
to help those whose primary research is Lambertville/Stockton. My collection
of resources includes:
Snell's History of Hunterdon (it is not indexed):
The Lambertville Record on Microfilm:
(will have 1873-1901 soon, right now I have 1882-1896)
Hunterdon Co. Census Microfilm for 1850-1920:
Lambertville City Directory 1899
plus odds & end of books and papers.
Individual look-ups on the microfilm is not easy, some of the Census film is
very poor in certain years. What I would like to offer is if you have an
ancestor you need to find send me as much info about them as you can, and
when I have those years in my reader I will keep and eye out.
The obits in the Lambertville Record are 1-2 lines unless you where a notable
person. Someday maybe I can do what Dennis Sutton has done with the Hunterdon
Democrat. The one thing I like about the Record is that it often has New
Hope PA items in it, since many of our ancestors would move across the river
and back. Plus it's local column has interesting stories and tidbits of info.
The history of these small towns is in the people who lived and worked there,
they were survivors and the reason most of us are here today.

Surnames:
Stockton area :READING, HENDRICKS, SHARP,WILSON,QUIRK, ROUNSAVELLE, EMLEY,

Lambertville: BAIR, FOX, WORTHINGTON, MITCHELL all came from PA to

The Beacon here is the Link to the Lambertville Beacon online, they often
have historical stories, and Iris Naylor's Footprints column is all
historical.
