Dear Trina:
I belive the reason so many families (some of mine as
well) moved to Northumberland was that the US gov.
made land available there either free or very cheap
for Rev. War vets. My family, the Birds, moved to the
area around Shamokin, Northumberland Co, PA around
1790 and then to Liberty Twp, Knox Co, Ohio around
1830.
