Searching for the parents/siblings/family of my Whitfield Tharp/Thorp, b. 1815-NJ. m. Amy Swallow, of Kingwood/Franklin Twp.,ca. 1842. Whit and Amy in Clinton Twp. 1850 census. 1860 census, was not helpful,as the pages were unreadable. 1870,1880,1900, Whit and family in Fulton Co.IL., along with many other NJ, families.

Whit and Amy's children,in birth order-
John,b. 1845 NJ.
Catherine Anna, 1847, NJ. (m. Victor C. Hazlett),
William,b. 1848-49(1850 Clinton Twp.,census)
Peter R., b.1850-NJ.
Whit Jr., b. 1857,IL. My ggrandfather
Hannah Jane, b. 1860-("Jane" in Whit's Will)
Lemuel F.,b. 1864, NJ,(b. near Clinton NJ.,--Obit)
Hezikiah Cattron, b. 1869-IL.

I have found nothing with the name Whitfield, except the Will of Amy's father, John Swallow, 1796-1879. He must have been known by his 2nd name-?

Note:
HCDem. names,Whitefield H. SHARP of Alexandria Twp. m. Amy Swallow of Kingwood. The only Whitefield H. Sharp I have found was b, 1831-making him, 11-12 years of age in 1842.
