Subject: [NJHUNTER] Migration from Hunterdon/Somerset to Ohio 1830s
Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 21:05:40 -0400

I am curious if anyone else has had a group leaving the Hunterdon/Somerset
areas in the 1830s for Ohio, to be exact, Mt. Healthy? Mt. Healthy is near
Cinncinatti. And was actually known as a respite from the cholera epidemic
in the 1800s.

If any of this should ring a bell please let me know.

>From the obituary of George William GETHARD:
George William GETHARD/GOETHARD/GOTHARD was b. 1799 in Pennsylvania to
German parents, moved to Amwell Twp. New Jersey, moved to Mt. Healthy, Ohio
in 1835. George was married to Elizabeth ROBBINS (perhaps Elizabeth was born
in Amwell, Hunterdon Co, NJ?).

One child, William GETHARD was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey abt. 1825.
When William was 13 years old the family moved to Mt. Healthy.

Perhaps someone researching ROBBINS is missing an Elizabeth?

Or perhaps someone has information regarding GETHARD/GOETHARD/GOTHARD and
other variations.

Appreciate any and all inquiries. This GETHARD family is a brick wall and I
am trying to tie this Ohio one to my Hunterdon one of Anthony GETHARD and
Susan DILTS.

Thanks
Sharon M.
