This was in the June 13,1900 issue of the Lambertville Record

"Our census enumerators are having troubles of their own in taking the census
around town. To get answers of the numerous questions regarding births,
deaths and marriage, they are often handed an old family bible, to look up
the answers for themselves. One lady, when asked if she had any domestic
animals, said "Yes, I have five children.""
