According to D'Autrechy's "Hunterdon County Place Names" ...
Pleasant Run, Readington Township. This stream which rises at the foot of
Cushetunk mountain range flows southeasterly into the South Branch of the
Raritan in Somerset County near Neshanic Station. Called Campbell's Brook
in 1815, Snell felt it was "undoubtedly so named for John Campbell, the
proprietor of the lands at its mouth which he purchased in 1685." The
stream was also called "Brookeye" or "Camel's Brook" but its "present
cognomen was bestowed about 1825".
According to USGS's "The National Gazetteer of the USA NJ 1983" the stream
described above is named. Also, a populated place called Pleasant Run in
Hunterdon County is stated at coordinates 403341N0744736W
