First Sign of Winter Strikes Very Heavy
After a very mild Fall, Winter struck heavy on Thanksgiving Day. The
thermometer dropped to 24 degrees and a sleet storm set in, which was
followed by snow. About four or five inches of snow fell and the wind
drifted it so that it made difficult traveling for automobiles. Railroads
also suffered and some trains were delayed a couple of hours. Friday
morning the thermometer dropped to 20 degrees. Saturday evening it again
snowed, when about six or more inches were added to the day before. The
thermometer dropped to 12 above. It has since remained solid winter.
