Who were the parents of Charles H. PROCTOR? Listed on his death certificate
are the names, Joseph R. and Elizabeth Proctor. Other info on the death
certificate was given by an unreliable informant - so I can't be sure of
anything contained in it. Discharge from the Civil War shows that Charles
came from Orange County, Vermont - don't know if he was born there. He came
to NJ at about the age of 14. Married Mary Lindaberry in Tewksbury,
Hunterdon County, NJ. Father of Charles is shown as "James" on the original
marriage data - father of bride, Casper Lindaberry, is correct. Charles was
born in 1839 and died in 1906. There are two other Proctors listed in the
census of 1860 for Tewksbury, NJ - Albert, from New Hampshire, and Joseph W.
Don't know if there is a connection to Charles, but he lived in Tewksbury
at the time of his mariage in 1865. My verbal family history ties Charles
in with the Proctors in Rutland County, VT and other descendants connect him
with the John Proctor in Salem, MA.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who could shed a little light on this
family.
