I am not for hate, nor blindly following any leader including ours. I even
boycott giving money to my local United Way because they give money to the
Boy Scouts who discriminate. I have been a regular blood donor for a long
time. I didn't need a tragedy to start giving blood. I have served my country
both in the military and currently in civilian life. I never doubted any ones
patriotism who disagreed with my views or questioned the country's decisions,
even in time of crisis. I believe if the United States is against terrorism,
we should stop training and supporting them. Personally I do not know if bin
Laden is behind these attacks or if any other groups are involved and neither
does the list. The attacks were not made by madmen. Nor were they attacks
against freedom and democracy. I do not mourn on cue on orders by President
Dweeb. There will be time for that when all the killing is over. Prayer,
candlelight vigils, and flag waving are mindless distractions for the real
problem at hand. However, most Americans can easily understand the us-them
mentality and think they are doing something by wearing pretty colors. Saddem
Hussein said the United States needs to proceed with wisdom. He is giving us
good advice. Americans are too arrogant and self centered to understand what
is going on in the world and why the WTC and Pentagon were targeted. This is
not a war of Islam vs. Christianity. The Arab nations have Christians living
in them. Certainly they would be easier targets. It is a simple war of have
vs. have not nations. That is why after the attack our government did not
know which one of the many groups out there pulled off the attack. That
speaks volumes in itself.
The United States trains terrorist at a place called the School of the
Americas at Fort Benning, Ga. School of the Americas Watch
http://www.soaw.org/. If the US citizens want to prevent another attack (I
think we can all agree on this one.) there are fundamental changes which must
be made in our foreign and economic policy, or else there will be more bin
Ladens. I agree bin Laden, if responsible, must be eliminated, but we also
must take proactive action. This we can do as citizens united to change our
government and the world.
To give you some idea what changes must be made, let's look at why developing
nations hate us. Recent names in the news: Pinochet-Chile dictator being
charged with human rights violations. He was placed in power by the US
government, who overthrew a democratically elected government to place him in
power. Henry Kissinger remarked, "They elected the wrong man." (Wonder why
they didn't bomb us?) Suharto- recently deposed in Indonesia. Placed in power
by a US supported takeover in which 500,000 peasants died. Suharto, with the
aid of US weapons, and our knowledge carried on a genocidal war against East
Timor. 200,000 people have been killed. The United Nations wanted to help,
but the kindly folks at team USA blocked the vote, allowing the murder of
thousands of innocents. This is something the American people could have and
should have stopped. I will bet the family tree, not one of you cared or shed
a tear for the countless numbers of little brown people who died because of
our government. Of course not. After all they are not Americans, and those
are the only lives that only really matter. Now you get a few white lawyers
at the bottom of a pile of rubble and everyone gets misty eyed. You people
are phonies and hypocrites. You the problem. ( Not everyone on the list-but
you know who you are.) So after endless hours of moronic talking heads on TV
who spew the official government line, with no real examination of the
problem, I come on line and someone from Rootsweb gives me a recap of the
lunacy du jour, because it makes them feel better. It only reminds me what
fools the American people are for allowing our government to maintain a
foreign policy which promotes hatred toward our nation. And now we all must
once again blindly follow or else Mary will question their patriotism. Tsk.
Tsk. Ever notice how every enemy of the American people is always branded as
a "madman"? They use to all be communists, but the government knows we don't
fear them anymore, so they are all crazed. Yet, for some reason they are all
heroes to the people who live under them? The reason why they are villains is
because they will not bow down to US corporations and allow our nation to
exploit their resources. Member Noreiga and Hussein where good guys when they
allowed us to exploit their nations. When the Kurds were outside the UN
claiming they were gassed, congress moved to stop funding to Iraq. George
Bush (sr.) killed that bill. Hussein was still our friend. When countries get
funny ideas on using their own natural sources for themselves, they become
enemies of this nation. Notice now that Red China is trading with the US,
they are now good communists, and their human rights record is no longer an
issue. What the US must do to prevent this from happening again is to: 1)
Stop military training of foreign nationals both at home and abroad before
another chicken comes home to roost. 2) open normal relations with all
nations. 3) stop influencing foreign elections. It is illegal for foreign
governments to give money to US candidates, we should do the same. 4) Promote
human rights by imposing economic sanctions 5) reexamine our close
relationship with Israel. (That is what got us to this breaking point in the
first place.) 6) Coca-Cola is currently involved in the assassination of
labor leaders in Columbia. We need to go after them and set an example. 7)
need to resolve more issues by using the World Court. There are many more,
these are just starters. America needs to start acting civil instead of
arrogant. Unfortunately, none of this will happen. What will happen is there
will be more bin Ladens (the fall of the WTC will be a recruiting film.) As
long as we remain arrogant and act as the evil empire this is certain. We
will win every battle, but lose the war. The war Bush will launch will end in
a hollow victory. There is nothing to bomb in Afganistan. They are already in
the stone age. Now is the time to concentrate on the issue on how we got to
this point and correct it. However, most of you will be looking for good
deals on yellow ribbons, because that is the extent of your understanding.
Mary believes everyone who disagrees with her is a bin Laden supporter. It is
that kind of American arrogance and ignorance that got us here. I prefer to
keep the list strictly for genealogy. Don't make me write again.
