Subject: [NJHUNTER] 1731A.Lott/D. DeMott/P. Monfoort- contacting West Proprietors
Date: Tue, 18 Sep 2001 11:32:25 EDT
Hi I have a xerox copy of part of an old West Jersery Proprietors land map
(sheet E). Under George Willock's-proprietor section are some large lots
(lying just east of the North Branch Church and running across the 1st
Branch) containing names that married into my ancestors.
1. Abraham Lott (Trenton B-2-p. 309) to D. DeMott and Peter Monfoort Nov 8,
1731, 300 acres.
2. Samuel Groendyke (Trenton B2-308) to Berrick and Peter Montfort April 28,
1731, 400 acres.
I am trying to connect part of this land to John Decker, Revol era, who m.
Sarah DeMott as well as to his brother, my Peter Decker, Revolutionary era.
Peter 's wife ,Stinjte (Goyon) Decker, was the stepdaughter of Michael
DeMott d. 1790, Hunterdon Co and the blood daughter of Michael's his second
wife Wynea/Wyntje (Langstreet) Goyon will 1793, Hunterdon Co. Also, Wyntje's
mom, Styntje (Jansen) Langstreet married as her third husband Peter
Montfort who made his will 31 May , 1771.
Peter and Stinjte sold land in 1789 in Bedminister twp, Somerset Co and John
Decker sold land in early 1800's to Cornelius Williamson but I can't find any
record of either of them buying any land. Can anybody help? Thank you in
advance. Janet
