I have one "Johnathan Pettit Sr." born 1766 in New Jersey, married 1791/92
in Sussex County, NJ; died Dec 1821 in Kaskaskia, Randolph County, Illinois.

His wife was one Susannah DePew, born 1770 in New Jersey; died 1829/30 in
Randolph County, Illinois.

They had Pettit children:
*David born 1793 in Sussex County, NJ
*Henry Newton born 12 Mar 1795 in Sussex Co, NJ
*Joseph born 1797 in New Jersey
*Female dau born 1800 Randolph Co, Illinois
*Thomas born 30 Nov 1808 in Kaskaskia, Randolph Co, Illinois
*Jonathan Jr. born 1802 Kahokia, Randolph Co, Illinois
*John born 1804 Kahokia, Randolph Co, Illinois
*Samuel born 1812 Randolph Co, Illinois
*Female dau b 1815 Randolph Co, Illinois

The father of the above Johnathan Pettit Sr. (b 1766) is named as one John
Pettit, born France.
