To any and all researching the Maxwell surname. My gggggrandparents
were one William Maxwell and a Susanna, surname unknown, This William
Maxwell was presumably b ca 1745 Hunterdon Co NJ and died ca 1811. He
m a Susanna ca 1870. They had 7 children: William Jr b 17 Dec 1771 m
Mary Magdalena ? d 5 Dec 1844; George b 12 Dec 1774 m a Naomi ? d 12 Aug
1834; Mary b ca 1778 m Francis Sherman; Francis b ca 1782 d 5 Feb 1859;
Anna b ca 1784 m George Dalrymple (my ggggrandparents; Sarah b ca 1786/7
m William Sherman; Elizabeth b 1790 m John R Larrison d 3 Feb 1859.
Is the William Maxwell above the same as the William Maxwell who was a
General under George Washington and who led the NJ troops in the
Revolutionary War? If not does any one have the name of the spouse of
this William Maxwell and their children? Would appreciate any info you
might have available>
