Does anyone research the name or something similar to VANMASTER or VANMARTER??

I have an Ellen Clark b abt 1825, dtr of Richard Clark of Hunterdon Co.
She is said to have married a VANMASTER. I've seen another similar name,
VANMARTER and think it could be either one. They probably married between
1845-1850 as she doesn't show up in the 1850 census with her family. There
is no listing in Deats Hunterdon Co. marriages. By the 1880 census, she
was a widow living with her father, so VANMASTER would've died prior to
1880. I have found no information on this fellow.

Any insight would be appreciated.
