Hi,

There is a listing for a Joseph Van Marter who married an Alice Ann
Polhemus on Sept. 7, 1855 in Somerset Co.

There is also a listing for a VanMater Family in the Genealogies of New
Jersey Families Vol. II. Here is what it says:

"The paper on which these data are inscribed appears to be a page from an
old family Bible. The Van Maters were of Monmouth County. For further
particulars see G.C. Beekman, Early Dutch Settlers of Monmouth County 1901
pp. 64ff.
