Looking for any information on:

John S. Stires, Jr. (b. 21 Jan 1819: Hunterdon Co.);
(m. 19 June 1839: Hunterdon Co.); his wife:
Sarah (nee Polhemus) Stires (b. ? d. ?) and their children:
Elizabeth Augusta Stires (b. c 1839)
Susan Stires (b. c 1841; d. 24 Dec 1927) My Ggrandmother, m. Arthur Hughes
Sarah J. Stires (b. c 1843)
George C. Stires (b. c 1845)
Mahlon M. Stires (b. c 1849)

Notes from my Father indicates that John and Sarah moved to and may have died in Monmouth County, perhaps in the vicinity of Keyport, Sarah Polhemus was alleged to have come from that area, but I have found no documentation after their disappearance from Hunterdon Co.

All above were noted in the 1850 US Census as living in Readington Township, Hunterdon Co.

After the death of John S. Stires, Sr. and his wife Sarah (nee Smith) Stires in 1851 of dysentery (buried: Flem. Bapt. Ch. Cmty.); John, Jr. sold his property in Readington Township and vanishes along with his wife and children (except Susan, who remained in Flemington and for whom I have records).

I have been in contact with W. Dennis Stires who maintains the Stires Genealogy and he has no further records either!

Any leads greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

MrBill
