Thanks to a private response from a helpful correspondent (see below), I now
know of another GARRISON-VAN SYCKEL connection...

Were Lydia (GARRISON) VAN SYCKEL and John GARRISON both children of George &
Mary (JOHNSON) GARRISON? Does anyone have more information on George &
Mary?

I don't have the parents of the John Garrison who married Mercy Van Syckel.
However, Mercy's younger brother William married a Lydia Garrison, born 23
Nov 1808, d/o George Garrison & Mary Johnson.
