Robert MCSHANE b. April 7, 1761 in Hunterdon Co., NJ, enlisted at age
17 as private in NJ Militia company of Captain Adam HOPE during August
1778. He subsequently participated in engagements in Elizabethtown,
Connecticut Farms and Springfield and served until February 1, 1782.
