Are you anywhere NEAR a National Archives ???? Do you go to a FHC ?

There are MAP books that are at these locations that show the Changes
each time they were made.. I would bet that there are some on the net as
well... check www.google.com in quotes ask for "maps NJ" then go to
..advanced search... put in Year for additional info...
