Nicole & Arline:

Thanks to the primary and secondary source citations that you have provided
(see messages below), it is quite clear that the maiden name of David-3
STOUT's wife was indeed LARASON/LARISON and *not* GARRISON. Since I am
currently researching the early GARRISONs of Hunterdon Co., that concludes
my interest in this family (for now!) but I wanted to share this information
with all of you that are connected to this family.

It's great to see a puzzle solved so quickly for a change!

My information was copied from what others had given me without any source
information. However, I found the following at ancestry.com:

Chambers, Theodore Frelinghuysen. The Early Germans of New Jersey; Their
History, Churches and Genealogies. Dover, NJ: Dover Printing Co., 1895.
LARASON.

WILLIAM, whose name occurs on tax list of Hopewell twp., 1722, as assessed
for 11 oattle and horses, 9 sheep and 160 acres. His will, dsted April 7 and
prob. May 30, 1749, (Trenton, Lib. 6, fol. 70), mentions five children:
James, William, John, George and the wife of David Stout.

Some of the William Larrison information at rootsweb has the above with
Elizabeth as the wife of David Stout:

Nicole

Perry:

The author of "Pioneers of Old Hopewell" does not list any primary
sources for Elizabeth LARISON's name, but he does list her genealogical
background.
He starts with John LARISON (or Jon LARSEN) according to the fireside
traditions of the older Larisons was a Danish nobleman who was compelled to
flee from Denmark and lose his estates by confiscation in 1660 because of
taxes. He fled first to Scorland and hearing that a large reward had been
offered for his capture, he went over to Ireland for a time and finally
emigrated to America and purchased a large tract about 1700 acres near
Brooklyn, Long Island.
He had six sons, one of whom William came to Hopewell, NJ.
William's son was James LARISON m. Kesiah PARKE, daughter of Doctor
Roger PARKE.
William's daughter was Elizabeth LARISON who m. David STOUT in 1726.
The author mentions the entire family of children of James LARISON and
Kesiah PARKE and their spouses, but mentions only that David STOUT and
Elizabeth LARISON had four sons and five daughters. I do have a list of
these children from another source however, in case you don't have them.
David STOUT who m. Elizabeth, sister of James LARISON, bought the PARKE
claims (they were looking for silver) about 1740. The quit claim deed was
not obtained by David STOUT until 1765, and on 10 June of the same year he
sold the plantation of 243 acres to James LARISON for the sum of twelve
hundred pounds ($3,000.00). Both of these old parchment deeds are in the
writer's possession. (This book was originally printed in 1908.)
I don't know if from this information you can obtain any primary proof
of her name, but I wanted to give you the benefit of what information I had.

Hi Perry:

I have three references for Elizabeth LARISON:

"The Prall Book" by Richard D. Prall, p. 450 lists the children of
Jonathan STOUT and Elizabeth BOLLEN. David is listed as one of the children
and states that he m. Elizabeth LARISON.

"Pioneers of Old Hopewell", by Ralph EGE, p. 226, lists David STOUT m.
Elizabeth LARISON. This book
contains many entries about the whole LARISON family.

"The Chamberlain Family" which I secured at Shippin Manor in Oxford, NJ,
listed John CHAMBERLAIN, b. 27 May 1739, d. 25 Dec 1821, will dated Feb
1820, m. Mary STOUT, daughter of David STOUT and Elizabeth LARISON b. 1740,
d. 21 Jun 1816, Grandin Presbyterian Cemetery.

Best regards, Arline
