Date: Fri, 26 Apr 2002 21:51:54 -0400
Well, this was interesting. Margaret's deposition states that Peter served a
tour in Quebec for one year. I haven't seen Peter reference this in his
declarations yet.
"To the Hon. J. L. Edwards Commissioner of Pensions.
Sir
I was married, (as will be seen by my papers in t he matter of my
application for a pension) before the expiration of my husbands last term of
service in the revolutionary war and therefore think that I am entitled to a
pension under the act of 4th July 1836, instead of the act of 7? July 1838.
My husband Peter Latourette served in the expedition to Quebec for one year
and subsequently in different tours for a period in the ______exceeding
Eighteen months. I claim accordingly a larger stipend that the one I now
receive or have received as well as to be placed on the pension roll under
the act of 4th July 1836 aforesaid.
I have engaged the services of Giles F. Yates of Schenectida NY to ____ my
claim. Readington, N Jersey
October 31st 1844
