Sorry, but when you ponder on it you'll find there is nothing for the
genealogist Aunt to worry about. A genealogist is a detective for one or
more genetic lines. Things like surrogate mothers are merely facts about the
birth. Just like date and location. The natural parents are the two who
provided egg and sperm. It is merely a matter of facts as to who gave birth
or even raised the child. There are natural parents, foster parents,
adoptive parents and godparents. Something that every genealogist has to
deal with. All the facts are pertinent about anyone. As genealogists our job
is to uncover those facts. The nice thing about surrogate mothers and sperm
donors is there should be very precise documentation to prove the genetic
line. Something that we normally have to assume. Remember the adage,
"mother's baby, father's maybe."
