Subject: [NJHUNTER] Revolutionary service under Cols Seely and Beavers
Date: Thu, 9 May 2002 10:22:17 -0700 (PDT)
I am researching my ancestors who served in the Revolution. I know that they served under COLONEL JOSEPH BEAVERS and COLONEL SILVANUS SEELY. If anyone has a pension application which states service under these two colonels I would be interested in knowing the details. I know a little about what these two colonels did and where, but I am interested in finding out more details about those under their command. I think the pension applications may help.
If anyone is interested in these two colonels, I have information on their service. I have excerpts from Col. Seely's diary for the Battle of Monmouth and the Battles of Springfield and Connecticut Farms. Further, I have downloaded Gen. G. Washington's letters to and from Seely from The George Washington Papers at the Library of Congress which is a searchable database on the net. From these and other resources I have been able to understand the service of my ancestor a little more.
