looking for documentary evidence of the relation of JOSEPH BEAVERS to his daughter MARTHA BEAVERS, who married RICHARD GANO. I believe I had found something from D'Autrechy Records of Hunterdon County, but a review of my file shows that I lost it or I am mistaken. Further, there is a reference in the Beavers Gen. Book, by Sonn about an application for a land partition by Martha Beavers Gano.

I looked for it one time at the Surrogate's Office, but had no luck. I also had no help from the staff but I believe I was dealing with a new person who had no clue about what I was looking for (plus I'm sure she had her own work to do). I then went to the clerk's office down the road and had no success either. I am not from that area and don't know when I'll be able to look again. I believe there is a record out there somewhere... If anyone has or can give me a cite to this record I will be greatly appreciative. I am trying to organize my records to put in an application for the SAR for my father by father's day and this is the last stumbling block.

Does anyone have any idea of the turn-around time for a mail inquiry for records from the Surrogate's Office? How much money do you send them up-front? I remember reading the horror stories about their prices a few months back...

Thanks

- john
