Hi,

In the "Index of Persons, Places and Subects Volume 1 of Mortgages of
Hunterdon County 1766-1793 " compiled by Phyllis B. D'Autrechy

"All names are indexed. An Asterisk appears before the names of the
grantor(s) and grantee(s) when they first appear in the mortgage. The date
given for each person is the date of the mortgage or the date mentioned in
the mortgage when the person was involved in the transaction. No location
is given for persons who were witnesses or judges since the exact location
of the residence or place of transaction could not be determined. No
location is given either for those persons mentioned in property
descriptions for which no county or township was given."
