In any case, I was wondering if you would check the Gazette for the surname
VLIET. I'm especially interested in finding a marriage for Jacob Vliet and
Barbary Opdyke, but would be glad to read anything else about them.

RESPONSE:

No, Rita, I live closer to you than that - in Delaware Township!

The Index for the Gazette (1825 to 1836) contained these VLIETs: Daniel,
Garret, Martha, Simon, Simon W., and William; but no Jacob YET! There were
no Barbary (sp?) Opdyke, Opdycke, nor Updikes in the Index.
