Calling for any possible help again. I am loaded with questions.
Will the real husband of Anna Kaes (Case) please step forward. The
answer to this has eluded me for more than 20 years now. Henry Z Jones
book and numerous others indicate that Henry Dils was the husband of
Anne Kaes. Others have noted that her husband was a Peter Dils. In any
event she married a Dils. Anna was the daughter of Johan Philip Kaes
and Anna Elizabeth Jung. Johan Philip died in 1754 and left a will of
that year. Therein he names his children with Anna Elizabeth and his
children with his second wife Rachel Housel. Further he names as heirs
two Dils boys, sons of his daughter Anna Dils (presumed to have
preceeded Johan Philip in death on or before 1754 Anna and her Dils
husband had other children, all before 1754 including other sons. Why
would Johan Philip have named only the two??? And was Anna's husband
also deceased prior to 1754???
Henry, her husband by some accounts including Jones died 11 May 1787.
He made a will dated 16 Jan 1784, probated 20 Feb 1788 and finalized in
1795. In his will he cites his wife Anna (presumably still living) and
his children. Some sources note a son b 1760/62 however, no Jacob is
mentioned in the will. If it were true Anna Kaes could not have been
the mother for she was already deceased. Some sources note that Jacob
was the Jacob who m Sarah Heath??? and some sources note that Henry's
son Philip was the Philip who m Mary Hoffman, the progenitors of the WV
Dils??? Most sources do in fact agree that Henry married an Anna. Two
say that he married an Anna Dils of another Dils family and one notes
that Anna Dils was the daughter of a David Dils. In my searches I have
notes on several Davids but none fit the timeframe necessary for a David
to havr a daughter Anna. Henry's will was #1414 (Sec of State NJ) I
have a copy of the will abstract. I can provide a copy for anyone
interested. Help
