Hi Marilyn, Grandin is in Union Twp. just to the south of Clinton, think
it's Rt. 513. This excerpt for "Union Twp. Rural Recollections" :

"John and Phillip Grandin, sons of a French immigrant Daniel Grandin, came to
Hunterdon County in about 1750. They established a business consisting of a
fulling mill, a store, and a tavern, near Hamden."

Hamden is about a mile from the location of the Bethlehem Presbyterian
Church, in Grandin...went to church there as a child.

I'll do a little more searching in the book tomorrow, see if I can find any
more info. Maybe turn up something of a sheriff!

Wendy
