To all on the list researching the Dilts and Bellis surnames. If you
are not already familiar with the info below I am sure you will find it
interesting.

1. The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution,
Vol 61, page 165
Mrs Jane Van M Bellis Sousa DAR ID no. 60502, b in Philadelphia PA,
wife of John Philip Sousa
Descendant of Adam Bellis of NJ, Dau of Henry Bellis and Louisa Hyle
Cornish his wife, granddaughter of Peter Bellis and Jane Middlesworth,
his wife, Gr grandaughter of Adam Bellis and Katrina Dilts, his wife.
Adam Bellis (1752-1841) served several enlistments under different
commands 1776-1779, NJ troops engaged in the battle of Monmouth, in
1832 he applied for a pension and his claim was allowed. He was b in
Hillsboro, died in Montgomery Co NJ.

Did he m secondly a Catherine Vandeventer 4 Aug 1832? Who were the
parents and or siblings of Katrina Dilts??
And a Christeen Bellis m an Adam Dils/Dilts. Christeen was a dau. of
Peter Bellis who was a son of William Bellis?
