Rose,

The Hunterdon County Democrat was started in 1838 and continues through
today. There were papers published prior to the Democrat. I believe the
Gazette was the earlier paper. There are other NJ papers (earlier) that
covered some Hunterdon County events but don't know the names. Bill
Hartman may be able to expand on this.
