I am looking for Millers from Hunterdon Co. in the 1750-1830 time frame when
several moved to Fayette County, PA. I have gathered information from the
Taxrateables lists, some orphans court papers and the Chambers book on early
Germans in NJ.

I was wondering if there are any other Miller researchers out there who can
offer background on the Millers in the old Sussex and Hunterdon Counties from
the Newton, Hackettstown area and further south down to Delaware township in
Hunterdon County.

I am most interested at present in Millers in Amwell, Bethlehem and Lebanon
townships who might be related to the Andreas Miller mentioned in Chambers on
page 449. I don't know if this Andreas Miller is related to John Henry
Mueller/Miller who lived in Tewksbury township or not so I am seeking anyone
with information along these lines.

My interest lies in two male Miller lines, Peter Miller and Andrew Miller,
along with apparent sisters, Susannah Miller-Duer and Sarah
Miller-Davis-Yeagley.

>From the 1790 Fayette County Census and the 1822 Hunterdon Orphans' Court
record for Agness Miller, I know these people are related in some manner as
they are all listed as her heirs. They could be brothers/sisters or cousins
but I have no information on this other than they moved to Fayette County PA
area in the 1790 time frame.

There is a Peter Miller listed in Bethlehem Twp from 1772 to 1789 but he is
not in the 1790 Taxrateables listing. This would fit if he moved to PA in
1790 as the Census and the History of Fayette County book by Ellis report.
Peter Miller was a Quaker married to "Tacy" and was b. 1755 d. 1838.

Andrew Miller, my line, died relatively young in 1794 with 3 children, Peter,
John and Margaret, by his wife Martha who later married John Delaney. John
Delaney was killed in the War of 1812.

Andreas Yeagley, is listed in Amwell from 1780 until 1789. His marriage to
Sarah Davis (nee Miller as per the Waldo Lincoln family history) is listed in
the St. Andrews marriages by William Frazer. He and his wife Sarah are
alsolisted as early members of the Redstone Baptist church called
"Philadephia" in Fayette Co. which was organized in 1791 by people with NJ
roots. Henry Frazer was the pastor and William Rittenhouse was the deacon
and recorder. These seem to be Hunterdon County area names.

There is an Andreas Miller from Germany listed in Chambers who started in
Newton NJ and then moved south. The Lebanon Twp tax lists has several
listing for Andrew Miller Sr and Jr. but Chambers lists children from only
one son for Andreas that being Andrew Miller b.1730 d.1829 who married Eva
Anthony daughter of Philip Anthony.

If anyone is still reading at this point in the tome and has information on
the Millers of Northwest New Jersey/Northeast PA, I would be happy to compare
notes.
