Kimberly,

I think I may have a little information to offer you. I'm not sure this is
the same Grietje, but since the year is the same, I believe it may be
correct. I don't have any knowledge of a spouse for this Grietje in my
files.

Grietje Decker was baptized on 10/4/1691 in the Kingston Dutch Reformed
Church. She was the daughter of Gerrit Jansen Decker and Magdelna Schut.
Other children of this couple that I have located ar Jacob, Willem and
Neeltje Decker.

Her father, Gerrit Jansen Decker was the son of Jan Broerson Decker and
Heyltje Jacobs. Jan Broerson arrived New Amsterdam in July 1644 and at some
point took on the name of Decker. I have more I can share with you on this
family if you think there is a match. Gerrit Jansend Decker was the brother
of Titjens Decker who married Jan Van Campen and from who I descend from.

I have no indication in my records at this point that the Grietje Decker I
have, had the middle name of Margaret, but the name was used alot by the
Dutch. Also your Grietje named her daughter Margriet, so it makes sense to
me that they would be the same person.

I have a book called the "Minisink Valley Reformed Dutch Church Records,
1716-1830 that has ALOT of Quicks in it. There are Thomas Quick's. The only
one that I can find that matches your note with the same spouse is a baptism
for a daughter Margrita who was baptized on 1/29/1718 in the Machackemeck
Reformed Church.

Also they were witnesses at the baptism of another Thomas Quik who had the
parents of Jabobus Quik and Maria Wessebrock. At that point Grietje Deckers
name is actually listed as Margriet Dekker. This baptism was dated 5/3/1743.

I don't find your Cornelius Quick, but there are alot of them listed in the
book. They are with different spouses than what you listed. The surname
Chrisham does not appear in the book, but the name Crisman and Cressman does.
None that match your Sarah.

In my database so far I have only one Quick. This is Anna Quick who married
John Van Camp in 1876. This is many years later that what you are looking
for, but I strongly think that there is a relation somewhere to the other
Quick's in the area that are in the book I have. I just haven't found it
yet.

The main family that I am researching is the Van Campen family, but I think
many of the families really intermarried alot and you find that the same
names keep coming back to you in your research. Alot of the times the
spelling is a little different , for instance Quick and Quik, or Decker and
Dekker, but they are the same family.

Good Luck and please contact me personally if you think there is a match with
Grietje and would like more info on the Decker family.

Thanks,
Amy Gonzalez
